Who Am I

My name is Ashley  R Jordan, but to feel more comfortable, call me ASH for short. I am an Early Childhood Education student at Humber College who decided to focus on the well-being, development and growth of young children today. I am enthusiastic about inspired exploration, curiosity, and confidence in the classroom. My strategy is to help provide respect for each child's individuality, religion, background, and potential.

My Vision for Working in Child Care as a RECE

As a young black   Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) for short, my vision is to help provide high-quality, inclusive, and responsive care that enables all children of any age group to feel loved, valued, safe, heard, and supported to the extent they need in life. I aim to help build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues to form a strong sense of belonging and create a loving community within the learning environment in which I work. The goal that I have set in place for myself is to always use play-based, inquiry-driven approaches that help enforce and motivate creativity, curiosity, and confidence in each child who walks into my classroom in the future. I plan to showcase the most upheld professional ethics in my classroom by promoting respect, equity, and collaboration in all aspects of my practice.

Purpose of the Website

I created this website to share valuable knowledge, information, and even resources that help support Infants' health, safety, and development in licensed child care settings. As an Early Childhood Education student, I strongly believe it is necessary to encourage environments where child feels safe, valued, loved, supported, and healthy. This website highlights key topics, including safety in childcare, illness prevention and management, nutrition, and healthy eating practices.
